WHERE TO GO IN CORON

                

CORON TOWN = the ideal jump-off point for island hopping trips. Explore this quite town and fall in love with its friendly people and laidback atmosphere.

 MT. TAPYAS = at over 2,000 feet above sea level. Mount Tapyas View Deck provides exhilarating views of the town, as well as its surrounding islands. This is where you want to be come sunset or sundown.

MABENTANGEN FOREST PARK = It’s a man made pool with fresh water flowing from the rain forest. Interesting endemic flora and fauna can be found around the forest park.

 MAQINIT HOT SPRINGS = the blissfully warm and salty waters of the spring provides a soothing counterpoint to frenzy of activities you may had. Just take a dip and relax in its healing waters.

KABU BEACH = Only 20 minutes by motorcycle from the town center, these is serene getaway, perfect for a day spent lazing under the sun, with refreshing views of Coron Island Ancestral Domain.

SIETE PECADOS = this cluster of seven islets in home to a rich marine life abundant corals, fish of varied colors and species. The beauty underneath makes Siete Pecados one of Coron best sites for snorkeling.

KAYANGAN LAKE = Prepare to be mesmerized by its stately beauty and grace. The entrance itself is awe-inspiring, as is the view from the top. It has been hailed many times over as the cleanest fresh water lake in the country.

BARRACUDA LAKE = hidden behind a collection of limestone walls. This lake has the added attraction of its thermal layers. It is named for the resident Barracuda that is said to haunt its waters-so be on the lookout! Perfect for diving!

TWIN LAGOONS = dare to swim into a small underwater tunnel to across from one lagoon to another. The limestone cliffs that separate the two lagoons. The tranquil waters, along with the challenge of the underwater tunnel make for an unforgettable adventure.

MAYNUNO BEACH = this provide a delightful mixture of white sandy beach and limestone cliffs. Great for picnics, snorkeling and a bit of fishing.

Coron is easily accessible by air and by sea to and from Manila. Schedules and other travel information are available at the carrier’s website

TRAVEL TIPS

Here are some things to remember to make your trip.

CLOTHING : Light, loose and comfortable clothing is recommended as Coron has tropical climate.

MONEY: Be sure to bring enough Philippine Pesos for your entire stay. Some hotels and stablishment have money changing services and also accept major credit card. Hotels may also accommodate guest’s request for a cash advance against a credit card. Travellers checks are usually not accepted. A two (2)ATM machine is available (LANDBANK & ALLIED SAVING BANK) but only caters to banks accredited under ExpressNet.

CONSERVATION FEES : There is conservation Fees imposed by Marine Park Managements. Tagbanua Tribes of Coron Island and other tourist attractions for its protection and management.

ENVIRONMENT : Practice ecological responsibility. Please do not liter or collect plants and animals.

HEALTH : Remember to bring insect repellant and an adequate supply of your personal prescription medications. A district hospital and several pharmacies are available to serve your health needs.

COMMUNICATIONS : Cellular phone service is available. You can also find internet service in some hotels and internet café. Resorts may have a sattlelite phone connection.

ELECTRICITY : The electrical system in Coron runs at 220 volts. Most outlets use flat parallel flat blades. So you may have to bring an adapter.
